CES is Full of Schemes, EVs, Robots, & Foldable Dreams

Dear Studio Fam,

It’s January, which means the Consumer Electronics Show is in full swing in Las Vegas. CES is famous for a wild assortment of new tech product introductions from every industry and brand, though in recent years innovation seemed to follow the same script. Flashy demos of common products made foldable may create good advertising content but leave many to view CES as nothing more than the best time to get a deal on last year’s model.

But this year marks a return to real innovation thanks to the market maturity of multiple tech paradigms and entry level market opportunities created by regulatory crackdowns on Big Tech monopolies. At the top of the list is generative AI, which is seen in multiple product categories beyond mere marketing moniker. Multiple legacy car makers debuted pure EVs to match the mainstream acceptance of electric vehicles. And while CES has seen all manner of robot vacuums and kitchen assistants, this year brings dozens of new makers of humanoid robots designed to do manual labor. And there was even a roll up TV that looks commercially viable!

Read on for a rundown of the week’s best new products at CES.
